Import Operator

Handle inbound air freight from CTO pick-up to customer billing for a seven-day forwarding operation.

About the role

The Import Operator processes inbound customer shipments quickly and accurately, working closely with the warehouse and transport teams to turn around import deliveries. The business operates seven days a week, so availability for weekends, overtime and public holidays is required when needed.

What you will do

• Support the Imports Supervisor to arrange timely freight pick-ups from CTOs
• Liaise with airlines on flight information and freight availability
• Capture consolidation data, send pre-alerts and bill customers accurately
• Invoice and cost all import jobs within 24 hours of arrival
• Check in freight within 30 minutes of receipt and complete check-ins by end of day
• Report damaged or surplus cargo immediately
• Follow customs, biosecurity, security and safety requirements

What you will bring

• 1–3 years in freight forwarding
• Data entry accuracy above 95% and typing above 40 wpm
• Working knowledge of Excel and Word
• Clear written communication and strong customer service
• Availability for overtime and regular weekends
